The post-war reconstruction of Ukraine and Bulgaria's participation in this process was a focus of the meeting of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The two spoke in Odessa, within the framework of the "Ukraine - South-Eastern Europe" Summit being held there. The Prime Minister emphasized the potential of our country in areas such as energy, trade, shipping and infrastructure, as well as in the context of the Greek Prime Minister's proposal for a railway connection from Alexandroupolis to Odessa.
Zhelyazkov and Zelensky also discussed the topic of the accession of Ukraine, Moldova and the Western Balkan countries to the EU. The issue of the status, rights and opportunities of the Bulgarian national minority in Ukraine was discussed. There are great opportunities for development, especially in the field of learning the mother tongue, in education, in the opportunities for access to all social programs and the upcoming recovery programs, emphasized Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov. The Prime Minister was categorical that the Bulgarian state is obliged to have a proactive policy towards our compatriots abroad.
