The Sofia Municipal Council (SMC) will consider a proposal for an external technical audit of the infrastructure and the condition of the heat transmission network of "Toplofikatsiya Sofia" EAD. This is one of the items on the agenda of today's meeting of the Sofia Municipality, published on the Sofia Municipality website, BTA reports.
The submitters of the report Boris Bonev, Emilia Angelova and Dragomir Ivanov propose that an independent technical audit of the infrastructure be carried out as a matter of urgency, with the objectives of the technical audit including an analysis of operational efficiency, technical maintenance, as well as the implementation of the investment and repair program. According to the submitters, the main technical risks that would make it impossible for the Company to permanently provide its service to some or all of its users must be identified urgently. The municipal councilors believe that since the Sofia Municipality is the principal of the company, immediate actions must be taken based on a real analysis, which will reduce the number of accidents and affected households.
The Sofia Municipality should buy properties in the center of Sofia and turn them into kindergartens. This is set out in the Sofia Municipality's Program for Acquisition, Management and Disposal of Municipal Property for 2025, proposed by Mayor Vasil Terziev, which is to be considered at today's meeting of the Municipal Council. The implementation of kindergartens is a priority for Sofia Municipality, which is why the acquisition of private properties falling within regulated land properties allocated under the current detailed development plans for the relevant educational infrastructure has been proposed, the mayor's report also states.
The Sofia Municipal Council will consider a proposal by municipal councilors from “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria“ Tsvetelina Zarkin and Dimitar Petrov to limit and gradually stop the use of single-use plastic products in municipal administration buildings. The proposal comes in response to European and national requirements for waste reduction and includes measures that will make the work of the administration more environmentally friendly and responsible, write the report's submitters.
New rules on how to choose the names of the stops of surface public transport will also be discussed at the upcoming meeting. Municipal councilors Vesselin Kalanovski from "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria", Gergin Borisov from “Save Sofia” and Ivan Videlov from "BSP for Bulgaria", as well as the Deputy Mayor for Culture and Education Blagorodna Zdravkova have submitted a report on the approval of consistent rules for naming the stops of the ground public transport and metro stations, so that passengers can always find their way around the city according to their names.
