The teams Paris Saint-Germain and Botafogo qualified for the round of 16 from Group B of the Club World Cup in the United States, BTA reported
The European club champion PSG won without problems 2-0 against the outsider in Group B Seattle Sounders and finished first in the group with 6 points.
In the other match in the group, Atletico Madrid defeated Botafogo 1-0, but this success turned out to be insufficient for Madrid and they were eliminated from the competition.
Three teams finished with 6 points each, but on additional indicators PSG finished in first place, Botafa was second, and Atletico remained third.
The Parisians dominated the entire match against Seattle and easily achieved success.
Hvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring with a curious goal in the 35th minute. After a shot by Vitinya, the ball deflected off Kvaratskhelia's body and entered the net. This was the 8th goal for the Georgian since joining PSG.
Seattle also had a situation after a blunder by goalkeeper Donnarumma, but the hosts were unable to take advantage of the gift.
After the break, PSG continued to dictate events on the field and reached a second goal after a precise goal by Achraf Hakimi, who completed an attack after a pass from Barcola in the 66th minute.
In the other match in the group, Antoine Griezmann brought Atletico success against Botafogo with a goal three minutes before the end of the "Rose Bowl" in Pasadena.
The first big danger of the match was created by Botafogo in the 10th minute, when Jefferson Savarino went alone against goalkeeper Jan Oblak, who, however, intercepted him and brilliantly saved the Venezuelan's shot.
Shortly before the break, Julián Álvarez missed the target for Atletico from a comfortable position.
Three minutes before the end, Griezmann received a pass from Álvarez and sent the ball into the net - 1:0 for Atletico. The minimal success was not enough for the Spanish team and they were eliminated from the tournament.
