By order of the Executive Agency for Medical Supervision, the hospice "Tsaritsa Ioanna", which is located about ten kilometers outside Ruse, has been closed, and the people were taken out this evening without the knowledge of their relatives, BNR reported.
The order to close the hospice was handed over to the manager on Friday evening, and hours later, on Saturday, police and representatives of other social institutions began the removal of the 60 people accommodated there. The reason for the closure of the hospice was that there was no 24-hour medical care and that people with different epicrisis and healthy elderly people were accommodated in one building.
"This is a hospice, it falls under the category of "medical institution". The requirements there are different. For a medical person, etc. It differs from a nursing home, which is not a medical institution".
This was said by Assoc. Prof. Alexander Parashkevov, director of RHI-Ruse, and he specified that the people will be accommodated in three Ruse medical institutions - the "Kanev" and "Medica" hospitals, as well as the Mental Health Center.
However, relatives of the residents came to the building, for whom this action was completely surprising.
The conditions in the hospice are good and there is not a single case of violence or poor care.
