The current survey reflects the division in society and the effect of these events. The overall attitude towards institutions is a direct reflection of the division in society. This was said by sociologist Genoveva Petrova on BNT. She commented on the study published yesterday by "Alpha Research".
The survey was conducted in the period 7 - 14 July 2025 and is part of the regular monitoring of Alpha Research. It is published on the agency's website and is implemented with its own funds. The survey was conducted among 1,000 adult citizens from across the country. A stratified two-stage sample with a quota based on the main socio-demographic characteristics was used. The information was collected through a direct standardized interview with tablets at the homes of the respondents.
The government has seen a slight decline in approval. The attitude towards the Prime Minister manages to mobilize some support. Zhelyazkov is one of the few politicians who enjoys a positive rating. Our admission to the eurozone is considered a merit of the government. The majority of Bulgarian citizens believe that this is a success for our country, Petrova pointed out.
And she added that a more significant criticism of the cabinet lies in the unconvincing solution to problems that have not been solved for years - healthcare, the war on the roads.
"The attitude towards the parliament is not news. Many National Assemblies enjoy low approval and this is no exception. The series of scandals, the series of no-confidence votes that leave the impression that they are being introduced with the idea of demonstrating activity," the sociologist also said.
Approval of the parties
GERB maintains its stable position. PP-DB also manages to maintain its position, despite the scandals. There is a change in the balance of trust in the parties in the coalition. "Democratic Bulgaria" maintains the position of a formation that enjoys public trust. While PP is experiencing a certain outflow of support for the party, Genoveva Petrova explained.
