The suspended ceiling of the former school in the village of Anevo, which also houses the local town hall, has collapsed, the Municipality of Sopot reported, BNT reported.
No injuries were reported in the incident, although part of it collapsed in the presence of employees.
It is assumed that the supporting beam of the entire roof cracked. In addition to the town hall, another office is also located inside. The building has been sealed by order of the acting mayor Kalina Chilingirova.
The municipality notes that the site was renovated during the term of the previous municipal mayor. The cost of the renovation is 452,813 leva, with the funds provided by a loan, the State Fund “Agriculture“ and the local government. It took two years.
"The building is dangerous. Talks are underway with the contractor, as the performance contract is still under warranty. However, it is unclear when it will be able to function again, because the problem is big", commented Kalina Chilingirova.
