A report on the actions taken to absorb funds under the Operational Program “Environment“ for the purchase of specialized equipment will be submitted to the National Assembly tomorrow. This was announced by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov during today's meeting of the Council of Ministers. The Prime Minister recalled that last year the National Assembly obliged the government to submit such a report on the provision of specialized lethal equipment.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to all employees and institutions engaged in controlling the fires, and emphasized that despite the efforts made, the situation remains complex. Rosen Zhelyazkov called for political debates on the topic to remain within the framework of the constructive.
The Prime Minister also indicated that an interdepartmental analysis is currently being carried out with the participation of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The analysis covers the necessary aircraft equipment, the available and operated airport infrastructure, as well as the readiness of trained personnel to use it. The goal is to find an interdepartmental approach for the effective and efficient use of this resource.
Rosen Zhelyazkov added that in August the country will rely on the available equipment and aircraft from Sweden, which will remain in Bulgaria throughout the month to assist in extinguishing fires.
