The "Road Infrastructure" Agency (API) informs that temporary difficulties are possible in purchasing electronic vignettes and route cards due to a planned update of the electronic toll system. Work on the system will be carried out in two stages:
from 22:00 on August 5 (Tuesday) to 4:00 on August 6 (Wednesday);
from 22:00 on August 6 (Wednesday) to 4:00 on August 7 (Thursday).
The RIA emphasizes that the update will not affect the automatic reporting of the distance traveled through on-board devices and GPS trackers for heavy goods vehicles over 3.5 tons.
The National Toll Administration recommends that drivers purchase the necessary electronic vignettes or route cards in advance to avoid possible inconveniences. The agency apologizes for any possible difficulties.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov predicts that revenues from tolls and vignettes will reach 1 billion leva by the end of the year.
