A specialized team of the Navy (Navy) conducted reconnaissance and destruction of a drone found today, August 12 on the beach “Harmanite“, Sozopol Municipality. The request for the participation of the military personnel was received at 10:00 by the Burgas Regional Administration.
Following a positive resolution from the Chief of Defense, a group for reconnaissance, marking, extraction, transportation and destruction of unexploded ordnance from the Navy was activated.
By order of the Deputy Commander of the Navy, Fleet Admiral Vanyo Musinski, the group, led by Captain III Rank Zhivko Karchev, left the Burgas Naval Base for the location where the object was discovered. The servicemen determined that the discovered object was a drone, an unknown model, and it could not be determined whether it had a combat unit.
From a security point of view, at the suggestion of the group commander, the deputy commander of the Navy, Fleet Admiral Musinski, authorized the destruction of the drone to be carried out on site, in strict compliance with safety measures and regulatory documents.
At 11:20 a.m., the drone was destroyed.
