From 22:00 today until 6:00 on August 19 (Tuesday) for washing, traffic in the direction of Varna will be temporarily stopped. During the night of August 19 from 22:00 to 6:00 on August 20 (Wednesday) the passage will also be restricted due to painting of facility.
Travelers to Varna will be redirected from 30 km of the motorway at the "Vitinska Reka" junction on the I-1 Sofia - Botevgrad road and at the "Botevgrad" junction at 42 km they will continue their journey on the "Hemus" motorway, the RIA also informed.
On August 20 and 21, during the night for cleaning and painting, traffic in the pipe to Sofia will be temporarily limited.
From 22:00 on August 20 (Wednesday) to 6:00 on August 21 (Thursday), the passage will be suspended due to cleaning of the walls of the facility and the road surface. On the night of August 21 from 22:00 to 6:00 on August 22 (Friday) in the same tunnel tube traffic will be restricted again for painting the walls of the facility.
During the two nights, those traveling to Sofia will take a detour from the “Botevgrad“ junction (47 km) along road II-17 and road I-1 Sofia – Botevgrad and will return to the motorway via the “Vitinska Reka“ junction (30 km).
The Bulgarian Road Administration appeals to drivers to strictly observe the posted traffic signs and to drive carefully, keeping a safe distance. To drive at a reasonable speed and not to undertake risky overtaking, which endangers the safety of all other travelers.

From August 18 to September 12, 2025 (inclusive), the entry of road vehicles along Alexander Stamboliyski Blvd. is prohibited in the section between Bulina Livada Blvd. and Anton Blvd. During the same period, the movement of part of the public transport will change.
The Sofia Municipality indicated that tram line No. 10 will run along the route: from Vitosha metro station along the current route to the intersection of Alexander Stamboliyski Blvd., then Alexander Stamboliyski Blvd. „Konstantin Velichkov“ along the route of tram line No. 3 to Zaharna Fabrika station in both directions.
Bus line No. 56 will have a changed route from the village of Malo Buchino to the intersection of „Alexander Stamboliyski“ blvd., „Bulina Livada“ ul., „Sukhodolska“ ul., „Vardar“ blvd., „Vazkresenie“ ul., „Kuban“ and to the left along „Sukhodolska“ ul. along the route to the village of Malo Buchino. The buses will stop at the existing bus stops in the changed section of the route.

The Sofia Municipality specified that the routes of bus lines No. 72 and 77 will be restored in the area of the final station of Zapaden Park Residential Complex, and tram line No. 8 will be closed.
