Radev from Pleven: It is unthinkable that in European Bulgaria the state cannot guarantee access to water - 1

This is a fabricated scandal. This is how President Radev commented from Pleven on the incident with the interference in the GPS signal of Ursula von der Leyen's plane upon her arrival in our country for a one-day visit on Sunday, quoted by BNT.
"There has been no official information about interference from hundreds of planes flying over Bulgaria, nor from the work of the Air Force, which operated in parallel with the helicopters at the "Krumovo" airbase. In aviation, navigation systems are repeatedly redundant, so if one means has any interference, you continue using other means", the president pointed out.

The head of state held a working meeting with the mayor of Pleven Valentin Hristov and the regional governor Nikolay Abrashev on the problems with water supply in the city and the region. Radev stressed that all institutions must be mobilized to solve the problem of water shortage.

"I want to express my solidarity with the citizens of Pleven and the region, as well as with the thousands of Bulgarians suffering from water shortage. Water is a basic value and it is unthinkable in European Bulgaria that the state cannot guarantee access to the most elementary thing - access to water. I had an in-depth meeting with the mayor and the regional governor and we discussed the challenges facing Pleven. The problem is very serious, but it will not be solved by transferring responsibility to the local government. Indeed, people on the ground are mobilized, doing everything they can with what they have in terms of resources, technologies, expertise, but I expect much greater commitment and assistance from various institutions. I also expect those who make operational decisions in the state and distribute public resources, who exercise control and who even guarantee that they think about the people around the clock - to come here and prove on the ground that they really think and work for the people. Work is being done in all possible directions and to ensure a greater flow of water to the city and to optimize the water supply network. Whatever technical means and solutions are proposed, we must answer important questions - where does the water disappear, what happens to the financial resources allocated for water supply, how are they allocated, how are they utilized, these are very important questions. Where did 500 million for dams go, we still do not have an answer to this question. How are water pipelines built? How are inert materials illegally dredged from river beds - this region has suffered from all this. Serious mobilization and coordination between all institutions and between all levels is needed to have extreme, short-term measures, as well as a long-term solution."

Asked if he had changed his mind about the head of the National Security Agency, the president replied:

"I do not want to comment on the processes in the service, but the information I have is sufficient for me to make the appropriate decisions. I have already announced my decision, from now on the Council of Ministers is on its way."

"This collapse of statehood must stop", said the head of state regarding the brutal beating of the Ruse police chief.

Radev also noted that he expects a "tense political autumn".

Later, Rumen Radev will participate in marking the 51st anniversary of Gulyantsi being declared a city. On “Svoboda“ Square, President Radev will address the residents of the settlement.
