By May 24, the regulations for the implementation of the Law on the ownership and use of agricultural lands will be prepared. The members of the Bulgarian Agrarian Chamber received such assurance during their first meeting with the Acting Minister of Agriculture, Georgi Takhov.
The rulebook for the implementation of the law is needed in order for the essential amendments to enter into force, which were made in it precisely at the insistence of the branch organizations themselves, specifies the BNR.
Among the changes is the condition that land use agreements will only be valid if they are signed by not less than 2/3 of the users and provided that they cover not less than 2/3 of the area in the respective land. Thus, according to the farmers, the vicious practice of twisting the hands of the tenants who actually cultivate the land is avoided. The changes were made despite the objections of the Association of Agricultural Land Owners, and by the end of next week it is expected that the regulations for their implementation will be ready.
