Ruse overtook Sofia and Plovdiv - 1

Housing prices in Bulgaria have increased by 3.4% in the second quarter compared to the first quarter of the current year, according to data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI). On an annual basis, the increase in price is 15.1%.

The data show that Sofia and Plovdiv are losing first place to Ruse. In the Danube city, the increase in price per square meter of residential area is 13.2%. In second place in terms of price increase is Plovdiv - 5.3%. This is not surprising, considering the intensive construction that the city has witnessed in recent years. Third place is for the capital. In Sofia, the rate of increase has slowed to 2.9% on a quarterly basis.

An interesting trend for the capital is that new properties there are increasing in price faster than old ones. The increase in the former is 3.3%, and in the latter - 2.4%.

The price of housing in Burgas increased by 2.9% in the second quarter compared to the first quarter of the current year, the National Statistical Institute reports. Only in Stara Zagora was it more profitable to buy in the second quarter instead of the first. There, prices reported a slight decrease of 0.2%.
