Chevron will build power plants that will run on natural gas. The American energy giant will build them near data centers in the US. In this way, the company will be able to skillfully take advantage of the demand for electricity for the needs of artificial intelligence (AI).
ΠInitially, the power plants will send electricity directly to data centers, bypassing existing transmission networks.
The plans are for the first gas-fired power plant to be put into operation by the end of President Donald Trump's term. Forecasts are that demand will grow by nearly 16% over the next 5 years. This is three times more than the estimates made a year ago.
However, a similar forecast is being revised by the Chinese company DeepSeek. For the Chinese, the DeepSeek model is more effective and can achieve the same results.
