Sofia reported more real estate transactions compared to the period before the crisis of 2008 - 1

For the period January-June 2025, 19,235 real estate transactions were concluded in Sofia. For comparison, in the first half of the peak year of 2008, their number was 19,015, according to data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI). They once again prove the fact that the real estate market in our country is quite dynamic.

Dynamic. This is how the market in major Bulgarian cities can be described in one word. In Πlovdiv, there was almost no change in the second quarter of this year compared to the same period last year - 1.12% growth to 4136; in Bapna, deals decreased by as much as 6.5% - to 3695; in Burgas, there was a significantly smaller decrease - 3.8% to 2388; in Pyce, there was a growth of under 2% to 1215 deals in the second quarter; Stara Zagora recorded a decent growth of 8.8% to 1132.

The effect of the “eurozone“ will continue to have an impact on the property market and especially on the “housing” segment. According to analysts, this effect will be felt most strongly in the last quarter of the current year. Then, all those who have hesitated whether to invest their savings in housing will do so. The psychosis surrounding the entry into the eurozone will continue to lead to an increase in prices per square meter of residential space. The market will calm down a few months after the official exchange currency in our country becomes the euro.
