The Sofia City Court will sit from 7:00 p.m. on the measure of detention of Varna Mayor Blagomir Kotsev. The session was scheduled for 3:30 p.m., but lawyer Nikolay Vladimirov, Kotsev's defense attorney, is traveling from Varna and will not arrive on time, BTA reports.
BTA recalls that at the end of last week, the Court of Appeals placed municipal councilors Yordan Kateliyev and Nikolay Stefanov under house arrest. The court ruled on their immediate release from arrest, unless they are detained on other grounds. The court's ruling is final. Kateliyev and Stefanov were charged with participating in an organized crime group along with Varna Mayor Blagomir Kotsev.
