The District Prosecutor's Office – Varna brought a 41-year-old man to criminal liability in connection with a serious criminal offense. He was detained for up to 72 hours by a decree of the prosecutor overseeing the case, with a view to bringing him to court to determine a preventive measure.
A report of a 42-year-old man's body found in his home was filed on November 2, 2025 by his relatives. As a result of the initial examination and the autopsy performed, it became clear that it was a murder. The immediate cause of the man's death was mechanical asphyxiation – strangulation.
Immediate actions were initiated to investigate the case. On November 3, the possible perpetrator of the serious crime was identified – 41-year-old friend of the victim. G.K. was brought to criminal liability for a crime under Art. 116, para. 1, item 6, item 2, in connection with Art. 115 of the Criminal Code. During the investigation, it became clear that the act was committed on the night of October 31 to November 1, 2025 after a domestic scandal between the two friends.
The work on proving and documenting the crime continues under the leadership and supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Varna. A request is pending in court to impose the most severe measure of detention “ detention in custody“ against the accused.
