Criminal psychologist Rosen Yordanov and former director of the State Department of Internal Affairs Valeri Yordanov commented on the program “This Morning“ on bTV on the deaths from the past week, in which six bodies of shot men were found - three in the former “Petrohan“ hut and three more in a camper near Okolchitsa Peak.
According to Valeri Yordanov, the actions of the Ministry of Interior were adequate and in line with the complexity of the situation.
“The Ministry of Interior acted in accordance with the situation and as it should. There is no way to submit information that has not been established with certainty and that could hinder the investigation“, he said.
When asked whether there was a delayed reaction or omissions in the initial stage of the investigation, Yordanov was categorical: “No, I don't think there was anything missed. From the very beginning it was clear that the perpetrator or perpetrators had free access to the hut and to the first three people shot, which means that they knew each other.“
He added that in his opinion the crime was not accidental and was not committed by an outsider. “This act was committed by a person who knew the victims in order to be allowed into the so-called guarded territory“, the former director of the SDVR pointed out.
Criminal psychologist Rosen Yordanov emphasized the unprecedented nature of the case. “We have two crime scenes and six bodies. Such a thing did not happen even in the Mutren years“, he said.
According to him, the connection between the two cases is obvious: “The first three bodies are obviously connected to the second three.“
Yordanov called for restraint and rejected speculation about the involvement of organized crime or external perpetrators.
“Let's stop with these versions about the wooden, Colombian or some other mafia. These are Facebook and table diagnostics“, he said.
According to him, it is illogical for three people, if they escaped execution, not to file a report and not to seek help for days.
“What do these people do for a whole week if they are threatened? Why don't they call their relatives or the law enforcement agencies?“, asked Yordanov.
On the topic of whether Ivaylo Kalushev is the perpetrator of the murders in both cases, Rosen Yordanov emphasized that key data is still missing.
„At the moment, this cannot be established for sure. We do not have results from the forensic medical examinations and the crime scene examinations“, he explained.
According to him, one of the working hypotheses is „internal dynamics“ between the participants, including the possibility of an extended suicide, but without definitive evidence.
A similar position was also expressed by Valeri Yordanov: „It is clear to me that a conflict has arisen between the two groups. On what occasion and what the motive is – I cannot say. This is not an impulsive act, but a deliberate one. Something has gone overboard“.
Both experts agreed that definitive conclusions can only be drawn after all the expert examinations are completed and the collected evidence is compared.
