A permanent arrest has been requested for the head of the "Customs" Agency. Petya Bankova and father and son Marin and Stefan Dimitrovi. The three were detained during an operation against the smuggling channel of Nikola Nikolov - Pascal, reports BNT. The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office has submitted a request to the court to determine the most severe measure of remand, "detention in custody" for all three. Motives of the prosecutors to request permanent arrest for Bankova and father and son Dimitrovi are that there is collected evidence from which it is reasonable to suggest that the three were part of an organized criminal group for smuggling, money laundering and bribery. Furthermore, if they are free, the three could commit another crime and obstruct the investigation, prosecutors say.
