They caught a man with marijuana worth over half a million BGN, hiding in a doghouse

A man was caught with marijuana worth over half a million BGN in Ruse, hiding in a doghouse, the police announced.

Criminologists from Shumen and Ruse assisted in his arrest. The ODMVR-Shumen reported to their colleagues that a man with a large amount of drugs was moving towards the Ruse region in a car with Shumen registration.

After they established the location of the man, a 50-year-old resident of the village of Golyamo Vranovo, known to the law enforcement authorities, his arrest followed.

In the course of the work, the investigators searched the property he lived in in the village, where a total of 27 packages, each containing about a kilogram of marijuana, were found hidden in the dog's hut in the yard of the property and seized.

According to preliminary data, the seized amount of drugs is worth about BGN 548,000.

The 50-year-old man was detained. An investigation has been launched into the case. The work on the investigation continues under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office – Ruse.
