The case against Georgi Georgiev continues today in the district court in Plovdiv. accused of inflicting 18 stab wounds with a dummy knife, violently cutting hair and threatening to kill his girlfriend Deborah Mihailova, BNT reported.
The case from Stara Zagora caused public attention and even changed the legislation. In the case, further questioning of witnesses and experts is expected today. At the last meeting behind closed doors, the injured Deborah was questioned. The court panel also viewed the recordings of the testimony given by her in the first stages of the investigation.
The defense of Georgi Georgiev once again pointed out that there were many procedural violations in the case and recalled the decision of the administrative court, which declared his initial detention for 24 hours illegal. However, according to the prosecutor, there are no grounds for Georgiev's detention measure to be changed to a lighter one. The prosecution is categorical that the procedure is strictly followed.
