They detained more than 430 kilograms of heroin on a ferry in Burgas. This was reported by the city prosecutor's office.
„436 kilograms of high-risk narcotic substances - heroin. They were placed in 434 packages, this is the record largest amount of narcotic substances seized on the territory of Burgas. The total value amounts to about 70 million BGN”, said district prosecutor Georgi Chinev.
„At the end of July, a cargo trailer with Kazakh registration arrived at one of the ports in Burgas by sea, heading Kyrgyzstan - Batumi - Burgas - Alexandroupolis - Greece. According to documents, it transported 4 machines for laying cables. After an unusually long stay, a Lithuanian tugboat arrived with a Kazakh driver, which formed a cargo composition bound for Alexandroupolis – Greece”, added Ivan Sokolov, head of the “Combating drug trafficking” sector. in Burgas Customs.
According to him, during the X-ray inspection on August 9, a number of risk zones were found in the construction of the cargo, the national television reported.
„When opening the truck and unloading the machines - uneven layers of paint, new welds, unusually low density for metal structures. After drilling, the presence of a brown powdery substance appeared - after field tests, it gave indications of heroin. "Apparently there were hidden caches in the metal structures," added Ivan Sokolov.
