Sofia City Court will hear today the remand order of Rumen Gaitanski - Wolf, reported FOCUS.
Gaitanski was detained for 72 hours by a prosecutor's decree after he surrendered voluntarily on Friday, August 16.
Gaitanski is being investigated for misappropriation of an unsecured loan for BGN 150 million together with the former executive director of the Bulgarian Development Bank Stoyan Mavrodiev and lawyer Ivan Georgiev.
The loan was granted in 2019 to the newly registered and without any assets company "Rodway Construction" in order to buy the small construction company "Road Construction Engineering", the seller is the company "Bio mining". All three companies are related to businessman Rumen Gaitanski, the Anti-Corruption Commission announced a week ago.
It has been established that the contract that served as collateral for the BBR's "Rodway Construction" credit, was terminated a week after it was signed in 2018.
In the course of the investigation, the Anti-Corruption Commission has analyzed numerous contracts between the mentioned companies in order to establish the expenditure of the loan received by the BDB.
There is evidence that "Crystal water“ JSC receives a loan from "Bio mining" AD significant financial resources. It has been established that the Bulgarian citizen Rumen Gaitanski is also connected with the management of "Crystal water" Inc.
From the analysis of the collected documentation, it is established that "Crystal water“ AD is a guarantor under a loan agreement between "Commercial Bank D" and TPP-Varna since 2019. Until recently, the majority owner of TPP Varna was the chairman of the political party DPS Ahmed Dogan.
The only person detained in the case of "BBR" was lawyer Ivan Georgiev, manager of "Rodway Construction". He was released on bail of BGN 50,000. Stoyan Mavrodiev is still being sought.
