Businessman Rumen Gaitanski appealed his permanent arrest before the Court of Appeal in Sofia, NOVA reported.
A few days ago, at the first instance, the Sofia City Court refused to release Gaitanski, nicknamed the Wolf, accused of being the instigator of the investigation into a BGN 148.5 million loan granted by the Bulgarian Development Bank.
Gaitanski was detained by a prosecutor's measure for up to 72 hours after he voluntarily surrendered to the law enforcement authorities.
In the case, the former executive director of BBR Stoyan Mavrodiev and Ivan Georgiev, representative of the company “Rodway Construction”, which received the loan, are also accused.
