Fake branded goods for nearly BGN 1.8 million were seized from a warehouse in Varna, the police in the seaside city announced today. Clothes, hats, bags, purses, belts, shoes, slippers, socks, swimwear, perfumes were found. The goods have world-famous trademarks, but the people in the warehouse have not presented documents about their origin.
The police established that the commercial activity was carried out through a social network, and the buyers received their shipments with a courier company.
Telephones, computers and printers were seized during the action in the warehouse. The organizer of the activity was detained for 24 hours – 35-year-old man from Varna, with criminal record.
The ongoing pre-trial proceedings in the case are under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in the city. The Economic Police continues the investigation, and an assessment will be made of the cash flows from and to natural and legal entities involved in the criminal activity.
