District Prosecutor's Office – Varna submitted to the court an indictment against a 36-year-old man, accused of killing an acquaintance in a particularly painful way and with particular cruelty.
S.Ya. will be liable for a crime under Art. 116, para. 1, item 6, item 2 and item 3, in connection with art. 115 of the Criminal Code. The murder was committed in the month of May 2023.
The two men had misunderstandings with each other and their relationship was not good. On May 2 S.Ya. noticed that the victim was moving along a street in the residential area “Asparuhovo“ in Varna.
He decided to catch up with him to ask him for an explanation about their previous conflicts. The arguments between them turned into self-argument and the then 35-year-old S.Ya. knocked his opponent to the ground by starting to punch him.
Pressed on his neck and chest. As a result, the man died of suffocation. As soon as he made sure that his opponent did not move, the accused left the crime scene despite the attempts of witnesses to what happened to stop him.
A few hours later, he was found. S. Ya. was prosecuted and detained.
The case against him is to be scheduled for consideration in the Varna District Court. If he is found guilty, he can be sentenced to “imprisonment” for a term of 15 to 20 years, life imprisonment or life imprisonment without parole.
