The son of prosecutor Biser Mihailov - Vasil Mihailov, was sentenced conditionally to 1 year and 8 months, with a four-year probationary period. The verdict is in connection with the four death threats to his ex-girlfriend Boryana Rangelova, Nova TV reports.
The Sofia District Court decided to change his remand order, releasing him immediately.
Mikhailov was acquitted of some of the acts he was accused of. “I think that the sentence passed in this way is incorrect, unfair and I will protest it,” said supervising prosecutor Georgi Ivanov. He recalled that he had asked for 5 years of imprisonment for the accused with an initial strict regime. “I believe that there is a real danger of him committing a new crime”, Ivanov added.
The current case is only about threats to kill Vasil Mihailov's ex-girlfriend. Of these, the Sofia District Court has honored only one, but has not yet stated its reasons. However, the supervising prosecutor emphasized that, in his opinion, all four accusations are true.
