The 18-year-old girl, who half a year ago hit two schoolgirls with her car on the way to school in Sopot and seriously injured one of them, agreed with the prosecutor's office, BNT reported.
The driver admitted her guilt and will therefore only be punished with a fine of BGN 2,000 and the revocation of her license for 2 years.
After the accident on May 7 this year, Nikol Raduycheva had severe pelvic fractures. He underwent surgery and treatment in a Plovdiv hospital.
He was bedridden for two months and in a wheelchair for three. After 50 days of rehabilitation in Greece, she can now walk.
It's the third week of school. However, she still hasn't gotten over the fear of what happened, and that's why she goes through another place to enter the school.
"I am glad that I passed and that I am among all my classmates and friends. My strength was given by all the people who supported me, and my mother, who was always with me, gave me courage," shared Nicole.
The entire public in Karlovo and Sopot, businesses, institutions and organizations stood behind the cause of Nikol passing. The teachers and classmates were the first.
"I am happy that Nicole has been at school for three weeks now. On the first day, he had a class on the fourth floor and went up without a problem," said Georgi Genov, director of PG "Gen. Zaimov", Sopot.
A few days ago, the guilty 18-year-old driver agreed with the prosecutor's office.
"The court considered all the facts and circumstances and approved this settlement. She even agreed that the deprivation of legal rights should be for a much longer period. She is unlikely to get into a car again", comments Stefan Shipkaliev, lawyer.
The family of the girl who was hit is not satisfied with the sentence and will probably file a civil lawsuit.
"5 months of pain, suffering, torment, nothing can replace what we suffered, suffering with a child,", Silvia Raduycheva, Nikol's mother, also said.
Nicole's family also called for tougher penalties for road accidents.
