Today there will be a new attempt to start the case against former investigator Petyo Petrov, better known as Pepi Evroto.
So far, the hearings in the Sofia City Court have failed twice. The reason - an irregular procedure for summoning both Petrov himself and the victims of his actions - businessman Iliya Zlatanov, his son and daughter, recalls BGNES.
A charge has been filed in absentia against the former investigator. So far, there has been no result from the search for Petyo Petrov Evroto, recalls the public television. According to the prosecutor's office, in the period from October 11, 2019 to March 23, 2020 - by using false documents, he received, without having the right to do so, gold coins and gold bars worth a total of over 1 million and 200 thousand leva, owned by the Zlatanov family.
The Sofia City Court once returned the case to the prosecutor's office, but the higher instance overturned the decision and ruled to start on the merits.
