The case of the ATV accident in Sunny Beach, in which five people were swept away and seriously injured, is going from the district to the district prosecutor's office. The reason is the death of the most seriously injured - 34-year-old Hristina.
The young woman died today at around 12 p.m. at the Burgas University Hospital after her heart stopped. She was brain dead, and her life was supported by medical equipment.
"The occurrence of Hristina's death is a constituent result, which suggests sending the case from the district to the district prosecutor's office. Most likely, the charges against Burgazliev will be reclassified to more serious ones, but this is solely within the competence of the supervising prosecutor," commented to "24 Chasa" Burgas District Prosecutor Georgi Chinev.
The supervising prosecutor, who will take over the case, is expected to consider a possible reclassification, including regarding the commission of the act under conditions of possible intent.
The bloody ATV accident took place on August 15 on one of the busiest coastal promenades in Sunny Beach. The initial alcohol and drug tests of the ATV driver - 18-year-old Nikola Burgazliev from Nessebar - were negative.
However, the blood and urine samples taken in Sofia showed traces of marijuana. In the meantime, by order of Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov, the investigation of the accident was taken over by the national investigation.
