The awards are for theatrical achievements during the past season. By tradition, the ceremony is held in the “Bulgarian Army” theater.
The actor Rusi Chanev is the winner of the big prize “Askeer 2024“ for overall contribution to theater art. The star of Bulgarian cinema and theater will not receive the award personally, because tonight he will be on stage - in the children's adaptation of "Under the Yoke". At the age of 78, Chanev returned to the stage and with the production "And yet life is wonderful". directed by Alexander Morfov.
Actress Mimosa Bazova will also receive a special award – honorary “Askeer“. This year's ceremony is called “Theatrical Frenzy” and is dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of Yordan Radichkov.
