The Italian film actress Stefania Sandrelli arrived in Sofia as special guest at the fifth edition of the Italian Cinema Festival, which is part of the “Kinomania” program, BTA reported.
The actress was welcomed by a delegation led by Marco di Stefano, a city councilor of Rome and the deputy minister of culture Ilko Ganev, who emphasized the importance of Sandrelli's visit, calling her an “inspiration for generations of moviegoers”.
The actress who recently starred in Paolo Sorrentino's new film – “Partenope“, shown at the “Sinelibri“ , will be involved in several special events. One of the highlights is the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the legendary Marcello Mastroianni. In this regard, part of the program is the presentation of the new film “My Marcello“ (2024), starring Catherine Deneuve and Chiara Mastroianni, presented in competition at the last Cannes Film Festival.
This year, within the framework of “Cinomania”, with the presentation of some significant films, a window opens to Italian cinema, with the support of the Lazio region and the association Punto e Virgola, in collaboration with < strong>Bulgarian Cultural Institute, in Rome, as well as with the artistic direction of Antonio Flamini, director of the Croffi Castelli International Film Festival Romani.
Stefania Sandrelli was supposed to give a press conference in Sofia today, but due to bad weather conditions, the plane she was traveling with did not take off on time and the media appearance was cancelled, the organizers informed earlier.
