A ground crew worker at Koltsovo Airport in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg is in hospital fighting for his life after being run over by A 77-ton plane, reported the Mirror, quoted by NOVA.
The 32-year-old employee, named Rail, was literally crushed under the front landing gear of the Airbus A320 on the runway. The man was seriously injured after the pilot, not seeing that the machine was still being serviced, began taxiing the massive Ural Airlines plane.
The man was rushed to hospital where doctors were forced to amputate one of his legs after the brutal blow. The technician has not yet regained consciousness. “The patient is in the intensive care unit, his condition is serious,” said a spokesman for the hospital in the city.
The flight captain was detained and questioned. According to the police, he was charged with negligence.
