The possible and impossible peace in Gaza, commented on the program "Hristo Botev" by journalist Ivo Indzhev.
Donald Trump and the peace plan
"I personally remember only one ultimatum of his that he has held up so far, when he warned the Iranians that he was giving them 30 days before carrying out air strikes, and he actually did so on the 31st day. All the other ultimatums that I can think of during these 8-9 months since he has been in power, he has practically violated them. He had something similar towards Russia – ultimatum when he should agree to a ceasefire, to peace in Ukraine, but instead of waiting for the end of the deadline he himself had given, he met with the Russian dictator in Alaska. Thus, he gave him the opportunity to get out of the situation, and he himself got out, without explaining why he had not kept his promise, what would happen if the ultimatum was carried out. So now, he has given "Hamas" 3-4 days. But those days are already running out.
The curious thing is that, unlike all his other, to put it mildly, eccentric ideas of an international nature, this plan was unanimously accepted by the whole world. And here I want to note a very important element: unexpectedly, the Russian dictator also praised it.
It is unexpected, because on October 26, 2023, i.e. 19 days after that massacre and the kidnapping of hostages from Israel, a high-ranking delegation from "Hamas" arrived in Moscow. From this it became clear that these people have very good, if not excellent relations with the Russian dictatorship. They are close in mentality, indeed, and there is a reason. Their visit coincided "coincidentally" with the visit of the deputy foreign minister of Iran at that time. Russia has excellent relations with "Hamas".
And here the curious question arises: why does he not mediate in this conflict. That is, Putin could use his unique quality of having wonderful relations with terrorists, without completely spoiling his relations with Israel. My interpretation is that Putin, the Russian dictator, does not want an end to the war in the Middle East and specifically in Gaza. Because this would return international attention to his atrocities in Ukraine, instead of to the atrocities of the terrorists who are pretending to be victims. Because Trump's plan is nothing more than a plan for the capitulation of "Hamas". To disarm, to dissolve part of the leadership that does not agree to live in Gaza under international control. To allow it to leave without being tried."
Is this real
"It's hard to believe, really, but that's where the whole thing is, like many other problems in the region, and this one is not a homogeneous alloy. This also applies to the terrorist organizations in Gaza.
"Hamas" is not the only one, but it is the main and main one. And there are contradictions within it. There is a wing that is under the influence of Egypt, Turkey and Qatar. I assume that this wing was consulted on this plan and gave signals of agreement, which is why Trump is so optimistic."
Who funds "Hamas"
"I can tell you with a fairly high degree of certainty that the entire responsibility for the state of Gaza and its population is borne by the "Hamas" dictatorship. They receive, according to my rough calculations, broken down by pen, about $120 million a month from the UN agencies for Palestinian refugees alone. Another $30 million from Qatar. From the United States - $40 million. From Europe, significant amounts as well. A total of about $320 million a month. If you multiply that by 12 months, you will see that it is about $3 billion a year. And maybe more, because there are other sources of donations. Plus the fact that Israel supplies Gaza with free water, electricity and gas throughout this entire period.
That is, all these funds have flowed into the pockets of the leaders of "Hamas", who have become millionaires. Some even say billionaires. They live in the rich Gulf, like royalty. They have built closed tourist complexes on the coast of Gaza, which, purely geographically and in terms of natural features, are in no way inferior to the Riviera. In Gaza, under their rule, quite a few rich people's houses with swimming pools, with luxury cars, appeared.
That is, the money that the UN gave, the money that the United States or the European Union gave, they stole. That is why they don't want Trump's plan, because they don't want this scam to stop. And not only that, they will simply lose their control, their armed control, their dictatorship. Because on this small strip of land, where about 2-2.5 million Arabs live, they had established an iron dictatorship. And right now I think that the people there are more afraid of them than of the Israelis. Because they know very well what it means to contradict the official line of the "comrades" from the politburo. Because they have a politburo in "Hamas". To contradict "Hamas" - that is usually punished with death by "Hamas".
The Media and Gaza
"The world sees malnourished children, tortured... Because that's what they're shown from inside the city. I've been in a similar situation for four years and I know that it's absolutely impossible for journalists to exist and move so freely back and forth among extremists if they don't have the approval of the extremists themselves. That is, they are practically their spokespeople. They show and make their propaganda.
It's sad to admit, but some of them work for prestigious Western iconic media outlets - from CNN to the BBC, not to mention Al Jazeera, based in Qatar. So, unfortunately, this picture is selective and in many cases proves to be manipulative. They show sick children, for whom every normal person's heart really breaks when they look at them, but precisely sick, not because they are in this state of hunger, and when you see group photos, it becomes clear that there is no mass starvation there."
Tendency to speak as if Israel is to blame for what happened to it on October 7.
"This is an amplified version of what is being said, that Ukraine is to blame, as Russian propaganda claims. You know that there are quite a few people in Bulgaria who believe this propaganda, although it is obvious who attacked whom. In this case, Israel was also attacked. But this was forgotten very soon. That is why I think that "Hamas" has no interest in stopping this war. They have no interest in crawling out. Because their, unfortunately, I would call it satanic interest, is for their women and children to die so that Israel can suffer morally. They cannot defeat him militarily - they know that. And I ask myself - why, knowing that, did they provoke him?
What did they expect Israel to do, except try to destroy them not just as revenge, but as a way to prevent October 7, 2023, from happening again? Moreover, they knew very well how in Israel, human life, even for a kidnapped soldier, has been a national cause for years.
I suggest that all biased and latent anti-Semites do some research and see what the Jewish hostages underground look like and what the "hostages" of the tunnel look like, who call themselves kidnapped. It is simply cynical to call yourself kidnapped in order to hurt the State of Israel, which is almost doing the same thing that "Hamas" did to the Israeli hostages."
Greta's Flotilla
"This entire flotilla that set out was not only doomed not to deliver aid to Gaza, but it knew that this was technically impossible. Because there is no port in Gaza. There is nowhere for these 40 vessels to dock. Technically, there is no way for them to unload the aid, even if they were carrying it. Because there is nowhere. They have to do it through an Israeli port. The Israelis offered it to them. They offered them not just one, but several options. They refused. It turns out that it is not important to them that the aid reaches, if it even carries any, the hunger-stricken people in Gaza. Israel claims that a huge number of trucks are being missed and the sector is flooded with basic food – sugar, flour, etc., but all of this falls under the control of "Hamas".
And "Hamas", besides the possibility of using these supplies to import weapons, because they have been running out of ammunition and other things for more than two years, also controls the distribution. And it does it in such a way that the population depends on them. This is a terrorist strategy.
The peacekeepers, I have no doubt in their sincerity, believe that by getting on these "luxury boats", they will achieve something. But the goals are two: one is to harm Israel, which seems anti-Semitic to me. The other is personal glory. Some people think that by challenging a country that will do nothing to them, they will cover themselves with glory.
As for the Bulgarian who wants the Bulgarian state to stop supporting Israel and send him home, let me say that the Bulgarian state did not send him there, and this is his personal initiative. So he must take responsibility for his own fate."
