35 years. How is the time going...
November 10th is a controversial date. This was commented on "Facebook" Lubomir Alamanov.
On the one hand, an intra-Communist coup was carried out on this date, carefully prepared by State Security, with the aim of transforming political power into economic power. And while we thought we were playing democracy, the cops took over and took away the economy and the finances. Then they replaced the values, scared us, disrespected the laws, corrupted the administration.
On the other hand, some change began then. Slow, tortured, replaced, heavy, favoring the communists, but a change nonetheless. Our accession to the normal world of Western democracy has begun. With all the pros and cons.
Yes, we want to catch up too quickly.
Yes, we want everything to happen here and now.
Yes, sometimes we want the perks of democratic life without being willing to pay the price they paid.
But the direction is right.
Because democracy is not a state, but a process.
Democracy is the daily responsibility.
Democracy is the rule of law.
Democracy is respect for the rights of every single person.
Democracy is striving for a better future.
It is up to us which of the two sides we will choose on today's date. It is up to us to say sadly that this is just a communist coup and there is no point in doing anything. Or that this is a communist coup, but it gives us a chance to fight for a better future. A future as a free country, a future of civilizational choice to be part of the democratic world.
It is up to us not to stay in the past, but to look forward. And let's not stop fighting. Everything is possible. We simply must not lose faith.
There is no point in arguing whether the glass is half full or half empty. The important thing is that we have a cup. And we are free to choose whether to drink it, or pour it out, or dissolve paints to paint. We can do anything. Because we have the freedom to choose.
Well, a normal day. November 10th. Just another day in our long search. Let's look forward to the future!
Smiling day!
