He will give valuable instructions, he will enjoy the joys of life with his hands full... And the shadows of the thousands who died because of him will not disturb his sleep.
Such thick-skinned people are unfamiliar with the torments of conscience, they are confident in their rightness. And nothing, except the grave, is able to correct them. From Lisbon to Siberia and further to New York, the new order produces scoundrels who fit into every commanding position.
General Lapin is from the guard of the so-called "heroes of Ukraine" - Russian officers who without scruples send their fighters to certain death. At the beginning of the campaign, he failed to capture Chernigov. His biography was supplemented by the abandonment of Krasny Liman, the heavy defeats near the towns of Balakleya and Izyum, the carnage on the Seversky Donets River near the village of Belogorovka (there, for three days in a row, the 74th brigade was launched into an attack under enemy artillery fire. The senseless losses numbered between 1,600 and 1,900 people, about 500 of them were irretrievable. 74 units of armored vehicles were burned or sunk. On the southern bank, the Ukrainians took the abandoned wounded - 231 officers and soldiers - prisoner).
It is strange that the EU imposed sanctions on this man.
The last step in his career was the NATO offensive in the Kursk region in August 2024. It has long been known about the serious enemy forces massed near the border, but the threat was not adequately assessed. Part of the funds intended for the construction of defense facilities were stolen. There are not enough soldiers. Only thanks to the heroism and endurance of the Russian people - in uniform and in civilian clothes - the attack was repelled.
Another development in the fate of the general from the reserve is also possible. So far, the investigation into the causes that led to last year's disaster is concentrated in the economic sphere, but some analysts expect that the actions of the leadership of the "North" group will also be checked. They assume that the purge will continue in the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. The chief there, Gen. V. Gerasimov, does not have a single strategic victory to his credit. And this stagnation is dangerous for the army, the economy and society.
In Russia, the nuts are starting to tighten - slowly, cautiously, but consistently. Many influential forces are involved in the events unfolding on the southern borders, and sudden movements would cause tremors fatal to the Federation. But it seems there is no turning back now. The war will rage on. And victory requires maximum concentration of forces.
