For the fifth day, Interior Minister Emil Dechev and the Ministry of Interior are hiding an attempt to set fire to the home of the Petrohan sect again. On March 12, a new attempt to set fire to the "Petrohan" hut was made, after sect members Ivaylo Ivanov (Ivey), Plamen Stattev and Decho Vassilev set it on fire before committing suicide on February 1 at 9:30 p.m., sources from the Ministry of Interior told "Voices".
According to them, the pellets scattered by Ivey, Decho and Plamen, which failed to burn on February 1, were set on fire. The fire on March 12 was extinguished by the called fire department. For the fifth day, however, the acting Minister of Internal Affairs Emil Dechev and the Ministry of Internal Affairs Directorate in Sofia Region remain silent and cover up the incident, which, according to our sources, was most likely an intentional arson.
The reason - the large final inspection of the hut by the investigators from the police and the prosecutor's office has not yet been carried out.
Just a day before the fire - on March 11, the Deputy Appellate Prosecutor of Sofia Natalia Nikolova announced that active work continues "on notes and documents found in the "Petrohan" hut" and a series of new inspections of the hut are to be carried out to collect more material evidence.
The security of the home of the Petrohan sect is provided by patrols from the Ministry of Internal Affairs Directorates in Sofia and Montana regions. Their directors were among the first to be removed by Emil Dechev in the week after his appointment as Acting Minister of the Interior.
On the day of the fire, the closest approach to the "Petrohan" hut was guarded by a patrol pair of the Sofia Region Directorate. Its new chief, Vladimir Ivanov, was presented as a long-time cadre of the Ministry of Interior with experience in the SDVR and the gendarmerie. The motive for his appointment was "improving the professional results" of the Directorate. With his experience in the gendarmerie, Ivanov should have guaranteed reliable security for the "Petrohan" hut. However, Minister Dechev, who made this personnel decision, must answer why this was not done.
After being dismissed from the "Gyurov" cabinet and President Iliana Yotova, former Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior Miroslav Rashkov announced that his removal was due to the investigation of the "Petrohan" affair and the removal of traces that lead to a specific political force in the National Assembly and the network of non-governmental organizations closely related to it.
