The Qatari owners of European club champion Paris Saint-Germain will buy Belgian club Oylen, Qatar Sports Investments (QSi) announced, sportal.bg reported.

QSI confirmed in a press release on Tuesday that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the full acquisition of the second division team from Belgium, adding that it would take control of “all related sporting, commercial and operational assets“.

Oylen had been owned by the Qatari Aspire Zone Foundation, a state-funded organization whose goal is to develop sports talent and improve Qatar's sporting reputation, since June 2012.

QSi, headed by the president of the Parisians Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has reached an agreement to buy Eupen, which is seventh in the Belgian second-tier league.

The deal will bring QSi closer to its goals, which include achieving a multi-team ownership model in different countries, similar to Manchester City owners City Football Group, which controls a network of football teams around the world. Portuguese side Braga is also owned by the Qatari company.

QSi is expected to strengthen Eupen's management and expand the club's commercial operations, while also improving the development of its youth academy.
