Grigor Dimitrov: I live day by day - 1

"I am definitely satisfied, I played better than my first match. Dominic is an extremely tricky player, whom I am meeting for the first time. The truth is that he made me feel very uncomfortable on the court in the first 3-4 games", said Grigor Dimitrov. The world No. 10 took a serious step towards title No. 10 in his career, after beating Swiss Dominic Stryker 6:3, 6:2 in an hour and 10 minutes at the hard court tennis tournament in Stockholm, bTV reported.

"Subsequently, however, slowly but surely I got into the rhythm of the match and started to read his serve better and better. My goal was to look at things point by point," Dimitrov said.

"I would say that I have a lot of fun on the court, as well as off it. Every year is a lot of fun here. It is important to remember all the good moments over the years in Stockholm. My friends and I often reminisce about our adventure. It has been a long time, so some memories have faded a bit, but it is always good to remember all the important moments of your career and appreciate everything that is ahead of you in the future. I always try to look at things from a positive perspective and live day by day," concluded Grigor Dimitrov.

He can also boast of a new person in his staff. We are talking about Daniel Troxler. The Swiss physiotherapist accompanies our first racket in Stockholm together with Sebastian Duran and Jamie Delgado, informs tennis.bg.

Troxler has over 20 years of experience in working with athletes at the highest level, and since 2014 he has been working with Grigor's idol - Roger Federer. The maestro had just ended his work with Stephan Vivier, who had already joined Dimitov's team. The maestro from Basel is making a real renaissance in his career, reaching two consecutive Grand Slam finals for the first time since 2009. Then, however, the most serious injury in the maestro's career so far occurs, as he undergoes knee surgery, and that's when the time for Troxler's magic comes.

His professional knowledge allows Federer to fully restore the strength in his legs, and his flexibility is even increased. All this led to an incredible next season (2017) for the 20-time Major champion, who won the Australian Open and Wimbledon titles, helping him return to the top of the world rankings. Thus, the Swiss physiotherapist became an integral part of Federer's team and the two remained together until the end of the career of the record holder of titles on the "sacred grass".

Grigor Dimitrov has already achieved a number of important achievements in his career this year - 40th victory over a tennis player from the Top 10, success No. 100 on clay, and No. 300 on hard court. In Stockholm on Friday night, he set another record. The world No. 10 recorded his 100th indoor win of his career, reaching the milestone with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Swiss left-hander Dominik Striker in the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 tournament. Dimitrov, who was born in 1991, is the first man born in 1990 or later to record 100 indoor victories. The Haskovo native (No. 3) also remained the highest-ranked player in the rankings. In the Swedish capital in 2013, he won his first ATP title.
