Yomif Kedjelcha from Ethiopia set a new world record in the half-marathon after winning a race in Valencia with a result of 57:30 minutes, reports BTA. The previous peak was held by Jacob Kiplimo (Uganda). In November 2021, at the Lisbon Half Marathon, he covered 21.1 kilometers in 57:31 minutes. 27-year-old Yomif Kedjelcha runs one second faster and is already the world record holder.

For women in Valencia, the representative of Kenya Agnes Ngetich won with a result of 1:03.04 hours.

Keđelča is a silver medalist from the 2019 World Championships at 10,000 meters. He has two gold medals from the indoor 3000m planet championships (2016, 2018). In 2015, the Ethiopian took the 5000 meters trophy in the Diamond League.
