Manchester United have begun work on the transfer of Victor Gokeres, Topsport reported.
According to Sky Sports, the club and Sporting Lisbon have begun negotiations through intermediaries regarding the transfer of the 27-year-old striker.
It is noted that Gokeres is liked by the "Red Devils" manager Ruben Amorim, who previously worked with him at the Portuguese club.
It is also reported that United are considering other options to strengthen the attack. The club wants to sign a striker, regardless of the future of Rasmus Høylund, who previously announced his intention to stay with the team.
Last season, Gökeres scored 39 goals and made 7 assists in 33 matches in the Portuguese championship.
