Elizara Yaneva lost to Alina Granver (Switzerland) 3:6, 4:6 in 90 minutes in a match from the semifinals of the clay tennis tournament in the Spanish capital Madrid, which has a prize fund of 15 thousand dollars, BTA reports.
The number 5 Yaneva suffered a defeat from the third in the schedule. The match started evenly, but with a series of four consecutive games Granver took the first set. In the second half, the 18-year-old Bulgarian made up for an early break deficit, but in the tenth game she conceded another break, which brought the victory to the Swiss.
Thus, Yaneva failed to qualify for the final of the International Tennis Federation ITF circuit for the first time since February, when she won two consecutive singles titles at tournaments of the same rank in Spain.
