Two-time Olympic wrestling champion Boyan Radev is in serious condition in the intensive care unit of the Military Medical Academy (MMA) in the capital, "24 hours" reports, sportal.bg.
Medical teams are doing everything possible to get the famous wrestler and collector out of the risky situation and there are already first signs of stabilization. Kidney problems were the reason Radev was urgently admitted to the MMA from the luxury hospice at the foot of Vitosha Mountain, where he has been staying for several years.
Until 10 months ago, Boyan Radev was visibly better. He managed to overcome the collapse after the loss of his wife Maria at the end of 2020. In the “Blocks” hospice, he lived together with our distinguished painter Ivan Vukadinov and the iconic sculptor Georgi Chapkanov. Last summer, however, the relatives moved Chapa to a hospice in Bankya because of the unbearably high monthly fee for the family of nearly 5,000 leva for the service in the “Tsarsko Selo” complex. Boyan was left completely alone after Ivan Vukadinov, the man who had full control over the champion's collection and gave him guidance on which authors to collect and how to invest in art, passed away on September 22.
