This government lost authority and legitimacy from its own creators. Initially, it had a very good chance of lasting a much longer period, because it was presented as a technocratic cabinet - people with experience in the administration, including Rosen Zhelyazkov. But the truth is that the figure of Delyan Peevski sabotaged the preservation of the authority and weight of this cabinet. Peevski wanted to show all the time that he was in command de facto and de jure. And he demonstrated it constantly. This was announced to Lili Marinkova in the studio of „FAKTI“ and the program „Conversation“ by journalist Diana Hussein.

„We remember how Peevski ordered a lot things to the cabinet, and the same or the next day they carried them out. The same thing happened with several votes in parliament. Peevski himself, with the consent of GERB leader Boyko Borisov - because GERB is the mandate holder, further discredited the authority of this government and brought it to the point where it looks like a puppet“, the guest added.

“Now the cabinet is trying to present itself as a government that has done very serious work for the future of Bulgaria, and an irresponsible opposition in the person of PP–DB is to blame for the chaos that is coming. For me, it is ridiculous to threaten the society that Soros and PP–DB have overthrown the government – given that a large part of society generally feels hostility towards Soros himself, and on the topic of the war in Ukraine, it believes that it must end and does not support the unconditional policy of the government. To scare these people with Soros is absurd“, Hussein also shared.

“Anyone who has watched Borisov over the years knows that he is jealous if someone from his entourage starts to shine with their own light. I return the tape to his first cabinet. When Tsvetan Tsvetanov began to rise very quickly, his star went out immediately after the attacks against him and his properties. At that time, Tsvetanov had a very high rating and was starting to get closer to Borisov with operations against domestic crime. Borisov did not like this. The property scandals followed, Tsvetanov was pulled out of the spotlight and remained only in parliament, without returning to the executive branch“, the guest also said.

“It is too early to talk about Borisov's resignation, because he has one key task - to cleanse the party of Peevski's influence. And this will not be an easy task. This government as a whole weighed heavily on Borisov. The efforts to pass the budget are important in view of the upcoming elections. They removed some of the things that irritated the public, but they kept the financing of municipalities, which is key: to have money for municipal projects before elections. This is a main lever for Peevski to influence mayors before elections“, Diana Hussein also revealed.
