The protest of the higher schools, which has been brewing in the management for a long time, has now erupted. For five years we have been raising the salaries of policemen, soldiers, doctors, and almost the only group whose salary has not been increased is the university professors. At the beginning of this year, BGN 39 million was voted to the universities. So the money is not given now, it just had to be uncorked. They were voted on at the beginning of this year. “The question now is about the other means of raising wages. We had demands, but the budget was not provided. So there is no sacrifice of the government at the moment. Let's face it - no sacrifice has been made by the government for the money of the higher education institutions. No such thing. The laws passed by the National Assembly are simply not implemented. How do you want a person from “Philippians“ to implement the laws after a minister does not implement them”, commented the historian.

“Otherwise, the money was delayed due to a misunderstanding between the rectors themselves - how to distribute it. So they also bear their share of the blame. The protest must take place and it must be before May 24 at all costs. If the date of May 24 is omitted, those in the government will feel impunity, it will be a thing of the past. The only possibility to move is for the protest to be before May 24”, Prof. Ilchev.
