What happened in MRF did not happen the way Ahmed Dogan imagined. In reality, he retired back in 2013, after an assassination attempt was made against him. Then he left operational politics. But behind the scenes, he continued to manage MRF. And he did a good job. He changed chairmen when they tried to go in the wrong direction. I mean Lyutvi Mestan. He did not allow other parties to build up in this field of the Muslim-Turkish community. „Dogan's mistake was that the party started talking only about money. Dogan moved away from the beginning of the MRF - from rights and freedoms. This desire for money brought him closer to Peevski, Dogan sold the MRF to Peevski. And the next moment, when Peevski - just like Mestan, tried to take the party in the wrong direction according to Dogan - to support the cabinet of Rosen Zhelyazkov... Then Dogan went against this and thought that his word would be enough. But it wasn't. It's just that behind the real power in politics lies money. I say this with regret, because this has become the main reason for the illegitimacy of political parties. They work only for money, they don't look after the interests of their voters. And money, as we know from ancient times, doesn't smell and can be used for anything. Peevski defeated Dogan with money, the historian also said.
