Grigor Sariyski to FACT: Donald Trump Jr. is looking for a springboard for huge computing centers (VIDEO) - 1

What Donald Trump – Jr. tried to do with his visit to our country is to look for a springboard where huge computing centers can be located. It is good to know that two or three months ago, Trump's two adult sons entered the advisory body of a large company, which is like a business association for computing centers - American Data Center. The crux of the problem lies precisely in the development of computing centers, because they require and will have an ever-increasing hunger for electricity and water. Because artificial intelligence and large databases - like all new technologies, require a lot of electricity and water. Their appetite is precisely for that - electricity and water. He announced this to Lili Marinkova in the “FACT“ studio and the show “Conversation“ economist Assoc. Prof. Grigor Sariyski.

“Have you ever realized how many times the use of artificial intelligence has increased in the last year or two. We simply cannot predict what people's appetite will be, because they are increasingly using artificial intelligence. If you eat chocolate or drink alcohol, there is some kind of saturation limit. With artificial intelligence, there is no such limit - it wants more and more electricity and water. And that is why people from the USA are looking for an option to move large computing centers, so that the company that owns the data center can use the benefits of this center, and the costs are borne by the host country in exchange for low wages“, the guest also shared.

“Remember what happened in the 90s, when many Western companies began to export their production to countries such as Bulgaria, Romania, etc. For us, there were some minimum wages left, you know what is paid in the sewing and shoemaking industry, and the big companies received the lion's share of the added value. So what will be registered on our territory will be some meager profit, while the vast majority of the added value will go to offshore companies, so that not a single penny of tax is paid here. Only the small wages remain here“, added Assoc. Prof. Sariyski.
