I have a slightly different view, because I would like to separate the topic “Radev“ from the topic “referendum“. Currently, there is obvious propaganda - certainly paid, in the central media - to prove that the referendum is the enemy of democracy. We saw this in several interviews in the leading media. The thesis was also launched that all dictators used a referendum to come to power. This is not true. No totalitarian leader in the history of the world has come to power through a referendum. There is none. He announced this to Lili Marinkova in the “FACT“ studio and the show “Conversation“ journalist Valeri Naydenov.
„So now, with Kiselova's refusal to consider the president's proposal for a referendum in parliament, I expect it to reach the Constitutional Court. Lawyers know very well - as long as there are still free-thinking lawyers, and it is good now to simply say what is next. Kiselova closed a parliamentary group a few months ago. She rushed it because it took one day to vote for the new deputy to take the vacant seat. We are simply witnessing constant blunders with the Bulgarian Constitution. Ever since the day these latest amendments to the Constitution began during the “assembly”, things have gone wrong. A large part of them fell to the Constitutional Court, and the other part - concerning the powers of the president and the formation of a caretaker government, remained with a 50:50 parity personally. These curtailed powers of the president are obviously changing the shape of the state, but things are going well“, the guest added.
