Initially, the baptism, which gives meaning to Bulgarian history, should be the focus of public attention, of the media, of the educational system, of everything. And it never was. We simply do not have such a custom. Come on, during Todor Zhivkov's time it is clear why, but after that some new tradition was not created to celebrate the baptism first, and the baptizer second. These two things are historically interconnected. This year we have 1160 years since the baptism. On this occasion we should have a big celebration in the capital, separately in Pliska. Today, almost no one lives in Pliska. There are not even 1000 people there. He announced this to Lili Marinkova in the studio “FACT“ and the show “Conversation“ theologian Georgi Todorov.

“We do not know the exact date of the baptism, but it is assumed that it was after Easter. Of course, the baptism was secret at first, then public. We can develop this topic and celebrate this historical event all year round - it does not interfere.
