Yavor Kuyumdzhiev to FACT: An atomic bomb requires 10 kg of 100% enriched uranium 235 (VIDEO) - 1

In the Israel-Iran conflict, radiation leakage may occur if both sides damage each other's nuclear reactors. There is a training reactor in Tehran and a rather old one, which works on a different principle, in Bushehr, which was built by the Russians. Israel has two reactors - one is located in the desert, and the other is near a small town. He announced this to Lili Marinkova in the studio “FACT“ and the show “Conversation“ Yavor Kuyumdzheyev, former Deputy Minister of Economy and Energy.

„Iran has facilities for the production of nuclear fuel, for the purification of uranium or the so-called enrichment. In nature, uranium is found in ore and we are talking about uranium 238 and uranium 235. It is uranium 235 that is subject to processing. What is the so-called enrichment? On the principle of a regular centrifuge, which rotates at a very high speed and for a long time, the centrifugal forces throw lighter elements such as the lighter uranium 235 aside and thus accumulate. Then this enriched uranium rotates again to reach a certain degree of concentration. For an atomic bomb, 10 kg of uranium 235 enriched to 100% are needed. Now it is said that Iran has 60% enriched uranium, which means that a larger amount will be needed – approximately 50 kg“, the guest added.
